Accessible visit

The Basel Chamber Orchestra would like to make its concerts accessible to all people - as barrier-free as possible.
Attending a concert in a wheelchair or with an assistant for people with visual impairments should be a matter of course. People with dementia have just as much a place in the concert hall as visitors with a cognitive or mental impairment.

Accessibility

Wheelchair spaces are available and guide dogs for the blind are permitted. Assistants of people with disabilities receive free admission to the orchestra's concerts and events.

The large hall in the Stadtcasino Basel is accessible barrier-free via the entrance ramp in the direction of Barfüsserplatz. Up to 10 wheelchair places are available in the hall.

The Paul Sacher Hall in the Don Bosco Basel is also barrier-free and can be reached via the ramp in front of the entrance area.

St Martin's Church is accessible and the concert hall is accessed via the ramp at the side of the church.

In the Stadtcasino, the way to the box office leads through the entrance on Barfüsserplatz (the door opens outwards) through the vestibule, then you cross the foyer for about 30m and enter a vestibule again through another intermediate door. The box office is on the left-hand side.
If you enter the Stadtcasino from Konzertgasse at the back of the Barfüsserkirche, the box office is located in the entrance on the right-hand side.

In Don Bosco, the box office is behind the entrance door. The doors open outwards.

Inductive hearing system

The Stadtcasino has an inductive hearing system for people with hearing aids. This is active in the stalls of the main hall during the short introduction "Hingehört". Your own hearing aid must be equipped with an appropriate receiver. As the concerts of the Basel Chamber Orchestra are not acoustically amplified, the induction loop is not active during the concerts.

There is also an inductive hearing system for people with hearing aids at the Don Bosco. This is available in the stalls of the Paul Sacher Hall. Your own hearing aid must be equipped with an appropriate receiver. Since the concerts of the Basel Chamber Orchestra are not acoustically amplified, the induction loop is not active during the concerts.
